Survivor: Episode 1

Okay, so what did ya'll think of tonight's 2 hour show? I thought it was really good, BUT...really slow moving. I don't know, we'll have to see what the rest of the season is like before making a good judgment call.

Okay, so about tonight's episode:

The cast introduced themselves 1 by 1. The cast looks freakin GREAT!!! A very nice & diverse cast, reminds me of the type of great casts from back in the first few years of Survivor. :)

After their intro's, the picked teams and then they went straight into their 1st challenge.

Here are the tribes:

(By the way, "Fang" is pronounced like "Fohng".)

The challenge was to run a really long distance and climb up a huge hill (in which I totally would have had a fat-attack!! lol) ;-P

Winning Team of 1st Challenge:

Kota

They won some corn, beans & rice.

Gillian was slow moving up the hill, and so was Crystal, which surprised me given that she's been in the Olympics.

Matty: "Gillian is gonna be a huge load to carry [in the game]."

Back at camp, Gillian was telling her team how good they were and just keeping everything on a positive note. Well, that kinda backfired on her because Randy thought she was more annoying than "positive".

Charlie & Marcus formed the very first alliance of the season: "The Large Onion Alliance". Marcus said that he looks at his alliance like a big onion and that they have to keep adding "layers" (tribe members) to their alliance (or onion, if you will.) But the "core" of the onion..er..alliance...is Marcus & Charlie.

Did ya get all of that? Good. Moving on...

Randy busted his head open when he walked into a branch on their hut and medical aid had to come in to stitch him up and wrap a big bandage around his head.

The next morning, Michelle was complaining about how cold she was and that the night was really cold. This annoyed alot of her tribe members...which are "stupid dorks" according to Michelle.

Challenge #2:
6 members tied together race through leech infested waters, then over/under a series of walls & posts. They have to dig up 3 bags of puzzle pieces, solve puzzles. First tribe to do the puzzle, wins immunity & fire (in the form of flint). Losers will go to tribal and someone will be voted out.

Challenge starts, Kota finds all 3 bags first. Fang looked like they gave up. Gillian kept yelling at them to "keep going" and to stay positive, but they
gave up.

Winning Team:

Kota

Randy didn't want Gillian around anymore and started to "plant the seed" of getting rid of her. Michelle & Ken also wanted Gillian out. So at this point, it looked as if Gillian was gonna go home.

Tribal:
At tribal, Michelle was bitching about GC being one of the main reasons they lost because he took a break. GC apologized and Michelle got catty, and everybody
ganged up on Michelle and started an argument.

First Survivor Eliminated:

Michelle

Jeff asked who the leader was in FANG and they said "nobody" and somehow it got turned into everybody voting for GC to be the leader, against GC's wishes.

Jeff gave them flint to take back to camp.

The next day, there was a little bit of friction between Randy & GC when GC asked Randy if he would could take over & get the water to boil. Randy thinks that GC is too young to be the tribe leader and he'll let GC crash & burn for other to see it.

Marcus & Charlie added "layers to their onion" (so to speak) and formed the alliance of:

Corrine/Jacque/Charlie/Marcus

Early the next morning, GC started a fire and was doing some laundry when it was still dark out (super early in the morning). Everybody else, one by one,
woke up. Gillian was not happy and an argument started between her and GC. This is when GC quit his job as a leader.

GC: "I don't wanna be ya'lls leader and I'm going to be the leader just because you guys want me to be. Hell, I'm younger than all ya'll!"

Challenge #3:
For immunity & reward (fishing supplies).

Winning Team:

Kota

They also got to send 1 of the other tribes members to exile island and Dan was the one they picked. Dan went and didn't find the hidden idol.

Even though Fang lost and didn't get to receive any fishing supplies, they were still able to make a fishing pole and snag up 5 (small) fish.

Tribal:
2nd person to leave Survivor:

Gillian

Okay girl.. first...
you left out a couple of tribe members...
Kota - Bob
Fang - Gillian
I only noticed because one of them is one of my favs... It's hard with Survivor to pick one fav this early in the game.. in fact, if you can pick a team this early you're ahead of me...
Right now I like from Kota-Bob, Corinne and Marcus
from Fang - Crystal, Dan and Ken
I didn't try to pick the same number from each tribe, just how it worked out.

I have to admit... and I'm going to yell now... I MISS OLLIE! (from Survivor... not BB10!) LOL

Of course I have to put in my two cents about tonight’s episode….
First of all GREAT and BEAUTIFUL location. I probably would have wanted to be voted out so I could travel around the country…
As for teams, I still don’t have all their names down, so stay with me, please…
First of all, of course, CHARLIE… his crush on Markus is as cute as it is ridiculous. Did he REALLY think that Markus was interested in him (and not because he isn’t cute)??? WOW!!! This crush will be his downfall, mark my words.
Gillian… I LOVED her energy… she is at least not one of the jaded Nurses I have met so many times (my boyfriend was a nurse, too). However that face paint was a little ridiculous.
Dan reminds me of someone from another TV show, don’t ask me now which one… but I am almost 1000% certain I have seen him before. However, and that’s just my gut instinct… I think he could go far, and I might be biased because he is easy to look at.
Bob, you gotta hand it to him. His body might look like a tall version of E.T., but this man is fitter than me in my college years.
As for tree mail, wouldn’t it be funny if they opened the lid and a big, fat, HUGE Gabon viper was in it…. Lol… I could just see that reaction.
Overall I MUST admit that these survivors are literally the BIGGEST morons in the history. You KNOW that the members of Fang are gonna be “pagonged” so fast, it’s gonna make their heads spin.
Also, I LOVE Survivor in HD… makes Jeff Probst even sexier than in the seasons before.

oh, and on a different not, the snake that we saw when Dan went to Exile Island was an Indian Python... a Python NOT found in Gabon.

HI AGAIN!! I had high hopes for Gillian and Fang. Man was i wrong. LOL! I liked Gillian and her possitive, team like spirit. Though i could rally see how she would be annoying and a henderence to the tribe. I ust say here i could not stand Michelle, I am glad she is gone. I also can not stand Randy and I hope he is the next to go. Has He been possitive about anyone or anything yet? YUCK! It bothered me when GC 'quit' being leader. I think it would have been good for him but i fel bad because i think he has some real esteam issues, poor kid.
Kota must be a real bore fest as they did not show much of them. I guess they figure they will be around a lot longer to film? LoL! I really really like the older guy on Kota, is it Bob? He is kick butt and at this point i think i an hoping for him. Though that might change, maybe a couple times. LoL!
I enjoyed the show and i am looking forward to the next episode and i am also looking forward to reading your blog.

Have a good night.

OK, now for my 2 cents!! Loved, loved this episode. I agree that there are many people that are already getting on my nerves, but I see them getting the boot pretty quickly. whew! It is a horrible thing but I enjoy when someone gets injured. I love it when the "medics" tell the contestants they have to worry about infection. NO DUH!!!That is just plain common sense.

I really wish I could be in Gobon (spelling-not sure) The scenery is breathtaking! I am enjoying the animals, even the snakes! I don/t know that I could get into the leech infested water. I used to think I'd be able to survive because I have no problem eating strange things. But having blood sucking things crawling on me? Nope, couldn't do it!!

Can't wait for next week!! Have a great day everyone! Its yuckie her in Jersey!!
